Hello.
Q. Which versions of SharePoint does Revelation for the Mac Support?

A. Revelation for the Mac works with SharePoint WSS or SPS versions 2.0 or 3.0 / MOSS 2077 (That’s pretty well everything)

Q. What do I need to load up on SharePoint?

A. Nothing. Revelation works 100% on your client (local) computer. There’s no code ’server-side’.

Q. Does the software run ‘native’ on the Mac?

A. Pretty much. (Here’s a more detailed answer which you can completely ignore if you are not a techie) Revelation for the Mac uses Novell Corporation’s Mono project which is the Mac equivalent of running .Net on the Windows computers. Revelation will guide you to install the latest mono first and then install Revelation. It’s all automatic.

Q. What Mac OS do you support

A. Revelation for the Mac works with MacOS 10.4 or newer, including the latest Snow Leopard 10.6.

Q. Does Revelation download every file everytime?

A. No. Revelation will sync down your files the first time you synchronise and thereafter it will just sync up or down those files which are either new or have been updated.

Q. What sort of performance will I get from revelation for the Mac compared with the Windows versions.

A. Pretty much the same. On a like for like comparison of computers it will actually be a shade faster on the Mac.

Q. Revelation’09 for Windows uses an Internet Explorer user interface, what about on the Mac.

A. You can use either Safari or Firefox. Opera probably works ok too but we haven’t qualified it on that.

Q Does Revelation download partial files e.g. Word docs when just a few words were updated?

A. No, it’s not really any faster. Microsoft document files are complex documents and the changes are all over the document.
